"STUDIO OF THE DUELING EASELS"
I describe my studio as the "studio of the dueling easels" because I frequently alternate between abstract and realistic works, generally working on both concurrently. I most often paint in acrylics, although I occasionally work in pastels, oils, or mixed media for some diversity in my creative process. The abstract works allow for an expression of my innermost emotions and personal reflections, whereas the realistic works ask the viewer to pause long enough to study a subject as closely as I have in rendering it. This dance between the two painting styles energizes and balances my creativity.
