I want this painting to cause the viewer to stand in front of it for a moment and think, “Is it an abstract? Is it some kind of fabric? What exactly is it?” and gradually come to see the twisted pattern of the sheets with the morning light streaming across them. It’s not really about the sheets; it’s about the lines, shapes, and patterns the light creates as it twists and turns across the unmade bed.
